A red for spring

Well. Dutch Tulips come in many more colours than this bright red, but Dutch Tulips nevertheless is an appropriate name for this great glossy red by OPI. It is actually so glossy you can even see my reflection on my nails – without a topcoat!

I don’t know how to describe this red – it is a creme leaning neither towards yellow nor towards pink; it is incredibly glossy; I only needed 2 coats for full coverage, and I really, really like it.

Luckily there’s a whole OPI Holland Collection coming out this spring, so we have more Dutch beauties to look forward to!
On a sidenote: the country OPI is referring to is called The Netherlands. “Holland” is not the whole Netherlands, but only two provinces, Zuid-Holland and Noord-Holland. So to be precise, the upcoming collection only covers 2 out of 12 provinces of the Netherlands (I’m talking about the European part of the Netherlands, not counting their oversea territories).

Anyways, here are swatches of “Dutch Tulips”, not part of the upcoming Holland spring collection, but by now I think a classic OPI shade.

above: daylight, below: artificial light, no flash.

Which shades of red do you like the most? Share with me! :)
