Eve and the Commet-Ment

I had this polish standing on my desk for quite some time – I just couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. You all know how I am towards purples, and this one has the slightest tendency towards brown (as it is a red-toned purple), so that didn’t really help.

I finally got around to wearing it, and while I imagine this to look gorgeous on other girls (and guys, if you will), we just didn’t click.

Eve-y on the eyes is part of the Sephora by OPI (SOPI) mini set Garden of Good and Evil. It is a red-toned purple, very warm and has some nice blue-ish shimmer in it.

You can see the shimmer best in artificial light (above). Below: daylight.

I didn’t like the color too much so I decided to put some glitter on it. Glitter has been my solution to all nail polish problems lately. I decided I would like to show you a dupe – Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-Ment and Sephora by OPI Celibacy Club (Part of the Glee collection). Both are holographic glitter topcoats, and they really are the same. But see for yourself (both 1 coat)!

Can you tell them apart? I really can’t. I think OPI just re-used one to make the other. Which is ok by me, because I was sad I only had a mini bottle of Celibacy Club!

Do you also just slap on some glitter if your manicure seems boring to you?

  1. Glitter is the fastest way to pick up a boring mani. It’s not always successful, but it’s easy. I like this purple polish, but I think it’s sad that the shimmer is barely visible.

  2. I just wanted to tell you that I came across your post while trying to find a celibacy club equivalent in nail polishes (my bottle is almost empty yikes!) I put glitter on anything and everything lol and I saw your post comparing the two. Needless to say tomorrow I’m headed out to buy Nicole’s comet-ment. Thanks for posting this!
