Bye bye Charmeuse

Nubar Charmeuse is a polish of the category: “I really really want it to look good on me, but it just won’t work”. There are a couple of those polishes in my stash – I have recently started to weed them out, as it is just sad to watch them sit there and be lonely and unloved.

Charmeuse is a hybrid of brown and red in my eyes, which makes is a very decent looking polish, but also aged. I don’t mean this too be impolite, but it’s a color I don’t associate with youth – which makes it so decent and appropriate :) . Well, anyhow, this doesn’t fit any of my clothes and shoes, nor does it charm me.

2 coats – application was easy and flawless, just like most of my Nubars.

I tried to spice it up a bit, so I added a coat of CND Pink Wishes Pearl on top of Charmeuse. I love the pink shimmer CND Pink Wishes Pearl adds, but I have to admit that it gets a bit lost on this base color. Still, I liked the manicure better than before, but not enough to keep Nubar Charmeuse. I am definitely keeping the CND though, as the formula was superb (it dries almost instantly) and I really like the bottle and brush. And obviously, the color!

  1. I don’t like this one at all, either! I agree that it’s old-looking.
