How I wore it: OPI Deutsch you want me baby & Elemental Styles Iron Man-ia

The recently released OPI Germany Collection left me quite cold from the promotional pics. I was also appalled by the names chosen for the polishes, even though I am not German – I thought some of them were utterly tasteless. Luckily for me, in Vienna, people don’t ask me what polish I’m wearing – at least not what name it has, usually a “OPI, recent collection” does the trick.
So when my dear swap friend M sent me the whole collection (!) I was really surprised, and when I saw the bottles unwrapped, I knew I had to rethink my opinion.

Today I’m showing you OPI Deutsch you want me baby?, which makes me cringe as I write the name. Nevertheless, the polish itself is an autumn orange, a bit darker, you know, one of those oranges that makes you think of autumn leaves and copper (at least that’s what I think of).

I used 2 coats. I have since tried a couple of polishes of the Germany collection, and all of them dried super quick and the formula was spot on. I love the warm glow that Deutsch you want me baby has.

Eventually I felt like changing my manicure, surprise, surprise, and I decided to layer Elemental Styles 26 Iron Man-ia over it. Sadly, Elemental Styles is going out of business, as Whitney doesn’t find the time anymore to produce nail polishes. Well, if you want to see what’s left at her shop, head over to her page.

I used two coats over Deutsch you want me baby?. Iron Man-ia is a red jelly interspersed with differently sized glitter. It’s easy to apply, you don’t have to fish for glitters at all. One coat of topcoat makes the whole thing super smooth.

I wore this to work, and I think it looked awesome. Red nails make a boring work outfit a bit more interesting, while red is – I think – ok to wear.

The bag is a present from my mum, the scarf is from Uniqlo (told you I wear a lot of scarfs!), the blazer is from Mango and the dress is from Noa Noa. The face is mine, brought to you by my family’s genes – non-refundable.

The ring I bought from a shop in Disneyland. It has a huge Minnie Mouse bow tie in it which I adore.

Let me know what you think – is sparkly red an appropriate work color?

  1. I love it. The whole outfit. And sparkly red polish is a perfect thing to jazz up black attire with almost no jewellery.

  2. What a perfect combo! I think it’s definitely work appropriate and it looks very classy especially in combination with your black outfit!

  3. Looks nice on you, and even more with glitter, and even even more with the whole outfit :) I had a totally same opinion on OPI Germany Collection, saying “ewww?!” to the polishes names and frowning at colours, swearing I’ll never get any. Oh well, got the Pretzel one from ebay yesterday : {
