Sunday Spam: essence polishes

Welcome to another edition of Sunday Spam, featuring essence polishes.

EDIT: Something happened here with the text. As I don’t remember the witty comments I made, but I assume it was a hilarious read, let me just tell you what the polishes are called.

essence hugs & kisses TE

Today I want to show you the newest essence Trend Edition, Hugs & Kisses. Most anticipated were the glitters in this collection – were you excited for them too?

I’ll start with the cremes to build up anticipation! Love it or leave it was by far my favorite. It’s a green creme, whereas the green leans a bit lime. So, for the sake of over-describing, this would be a chartreuse lime creme polish. It covered well in two coats, but I own similar greens with better formula. It was a bit annoying when it comes to leveling out, so I used a generous second coat to prevent a third one. Worked alright.essence love it or leave it

The biggest surprise of this collection was the red creme, Save your kisses for me. I have never seen essence produce a red creme. So unique. N-O-T. 2 coats.essence save your kisses for me

Sugar Baby Love is your rather standard pink creme polish. I have very little to add to that: 2 coats.essence sugar baby love

With X’s and O’s is a lavender pastel creme, which was surprisingly pretty. I prefer lavender cremes to be a bit on the dirty side, not straight up lavender, but it is pretty nonetheless. Very fitting for spring! 2 coats.essence with x's and o's

Now, onto the glitters! Crazy in Love (shown here over Givenchy Acoustic Purple) is a purple with holographic hearts glitter topper. It is very dense, and one doesn’t have to fish the hearts. I used one coat.essence crazy in love over Givenchy acoustic purple

Dreams for sale (shown here over Deborah Lippmann Let’s hear it for the boy) is a mix of differently sized iridiscent glitters in a clear base. I love iridiscent glitters, but the formula was gooey and it all ran towards my tips, so it looked like a big drip of clear nail polish on my tips. Euh.essence dreams for sale over DL let's hear it for the boy

More than words (shown here over essence with X’s and O’s) is the sister of Dreams for Sale – it has iridiscent and pale rosé glitters of different sizes mixed in a clear base. This one was the most annoying to apply, it was super thick and goopy. I didn’t like this much.essence more than words over essence with x's and o's

Sunshine and red roses (shown here over essence Skyscraper) consists of red and holographic mini-glitters mixed with red hearts in a clear base. I generally like the hearts, but these wouldn’t lie flat on the nail. I liked the idea of this glitter topper better than it looked in reality.      essence sunshine and red roses over essence skyscraper

What’s your verdict?

I’m in different dimensions

Well, did you think that that was all from different dimension?! See part one here.

Today I have some more dimensions for you! My by far absolute and utter favorite of all dimension is this one: On Wednesday’s we wear pink. MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_4

First of all it’s pink. Second of all it’s pink. What more would I love? Iridiscent square glitter. Yes!! How cool!MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_5

I’m wearing two thin coats over Misa Go for pinks, not because on wednesday’s we wear pink wouldn’t be opaque, but because I must save polish so I can wear it again and again. MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_1

For those who don’t know: On wednesdays we wear pink is a blog-thing, so on wednesdays one wears pink. I tried hard to keep that up, but I adapted it for me so I wear pink on one day a week. You can just join the pink-lovers by clicking the badge in the sidebar and follow the instructions. Easy peasy.MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_2

Just a quick question – I have this feeling that it should be “on wednesdays we wear pink” and not “on wednesday’s we wear pink”, because wednesdays is plural, hence no apostrophe. Any input on that?  MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_3And after all those way to many pictures, a closeup so you can see all the glitter in there. I didn’t use topcoat, but all the glitters were lying flat and it didn’t dry gritty so I didn’t need to put any on.  MISA Go for Pinks_different dimension on wednesdays we wear pink_31

When I saw that Missi, the creator of different dimension, had sent me a brown polish, I thought, oh no, not again (1 point for getting the reference!). I was wearing nails inc Garden Terrace to see if I like it better than OPI Berlin There Done That (answer: I still haven’t figured it out), so I decided to put my bear over that.nails inc palace gardens terrace_different dimension my bear_2

And now, witness this: I like my bear (…). Different dimension has managed to make me like a brown!nails inc palace gardens terrace_different dimension my bear_1

my bear is a medium chocolate brown, interspersed with golden flecks and red glitter. It is a quite fascinating combination. The idea reminded me a bit of ManGlaze Santorum, but my bear isn’t matte.nails inc palace gardens terrace_different dimension my bear_3

The glitters bring this polish to life, and make it shine! Beautiful!nails inc palace gardens terrace_different dimension my bear_31

These polishes were sent to me for my honest review.

New in: different dimensions

Look at that – I got asked to review some nail polishes for you by Missy, owner and creator of DIFFERENT Dimension. You can find DIFFERENT Dimension on Facebook and of course on etsy.

I had troubles deciding which one of the polishes I liked best. The selection Missy sent me is very diverse, making it even harder! Let’s just start, I’d say. Let me know your favourites – drop me a comment!

that is so fetch! is a mix of purple and blue glitters – you can find all shapes of glitters in there, squares, circles, hexagons,… they come in so many different sizes too!IsaDora Persian Princess 745_different dimension that is so fetch_4 You all know that I’m not big on purple, but I can actually seeing myself wearing this fun mix of glitters. I used one coat only (over IsaDora Persian Princess) – coverage was great, the glitters stayed flat on the nail, all perfect.IsaDora Persian Princess 745_different dimension that is so fetch_3

I lovelovelove how there are some iridiscent glitters in this mix, lightening the polish below.IsaDora Persian Princess 745_different dimension that is so fetch_5

Well – that was quite a start, right? The next polish I picked is …more. The heart glitters were calling out to me!essie wheres my chauffeur_different dimension more_4

What I loved is that it isn’t only heart glitters in this polish, but also small pink and small red glitters and a whole bunch of iridiscent glitters!essie wheres my chauffeur_different dimension more_3

I usually layer glitters over corresponding base colors, and end up not liking it, so I decided to layer …more over essie where’s my chauffeur?. I had no problems with the heart glitters – of course I had to dig around a bit, but let’s be honest, that’s always the case with larger glitters, they’re just a bit too heavy I guess. essie wheres my chauffeur_different dimension more_2

Last for this post is Sparkles like Edward.

I like the name of the polish, although if one finds the name of the polish funny, one has to admit that one has at least heard about twilight, which is a bit embarrasing…. Well, at least if you’re like me and didn’t get the hype for either movie or book. I won’t get into details here, but let me just say I adored Kristen Stewards acting skills. She should be called the lady of the thousand faces.deborah lippmann believe_different dimension sparkles like edward_3

Sparkles like Edward (over deborah lippmann believe) is a milky white polish with a pink flash and of course, massive amounts of small round glitters. They come in all colors – yellow/gold, pink, purple and blue. I used two coats to get the jelly sandwich look, but over a base color you’ll be fine with one coat too. I picked a base color to save polish as my bottle is a mini!deborah lippmann believe_different dimension sparkles like edward_31

Which one did you like best? Do you know different dimension? Have you tried any of their polishes?
